Default 4x4 works but frnt selec lights blinking? (95' montero SR)

Hi im new to the forum and have reserched but couldnt find the same issue im having. First off my selec trac rear lights dont come on at all and when I engage 4wd the D/L orange light comes and stays on (front) which i think is normal but the two front green lights just blink. Ive put it in 4wd in soft sand and gassed it and the front wheels do spin so im confused. when I go to 4LHC and push the rear locker button I hear the compressor working and then the rear middle orange light clicks on and stays on so i know that works but why is the front green lights blinking if 4wd is working?? any help would be awesome thanks.

Sounds like you are on the right track. I was going to suggest to check solenoids, because it sounds like the front wheels may not be fully engaged and therefore the computer not getting the information that the process is completed. Let us know if replacing the solenoids worked.
