92 Mirsubishi Montero oil pan help
Ok last summer I pulled my engine to replace seals and gaskets including the oil pan because it was leaking oil and since then I haven't had a problem until two weeks ago when it started leaking from the front of the oil pan near the crank shaft. I could not find out why it started leaking. So far I have drained my oil pan removed some of the exhaust to make is easier to work, also unbolted the mount and is lifted right now. I also took the intake manifold off to give me room on the top to lift the engine up. I did all that and I still can`t get the oil pan off to change the gasket. It was easier the first time when the engine was out, but all I need to do replace the gasket so there is no real reason to unbolt the transmission from the engine and take it out. I have Chilton service book and it says all I have to do is raise the engine at least 6 inches and move the necessary hoses and then the oil pan should come off. But I have a crossmember and axle in the way still. Has anyone had the same problem or experience with my problem that could help? Any info could help please.
