'95 montero 3.5 dohc not starting
I just got done replacing the valve stem seals, timing belt, water pump, etc... on my Montero. I put everything back together and it fired, but sounded pretty rough, so I cut the engine off. Since I have not been able to get it to fire. It turns over fine, but will not start. I have done some forum reading and plan on doing the following:
1) Check compression to make sure I didn't damage anything
2) Check for spark. Does anyone know how to do this with my particular Montero??? I do not want to damage the coil packs doing it the old fashioned way...
3) I have read It is common for a cam or cranshaft position sensor to cause problems. How can I check that these sensors are functioning properly? Note, I do not have a tool to read the MPI data.
Also, any other checks/ideas are appreciated!!!
