Default 95 Montero front brake lock up

Hello Everyone. I hope someone can give me some advice. Last night smoke started pouring out of my left wheel.I was just cruising down the hwy and stopped at a light. For some reason my left front brake is on all the time. I had the pads and calibers replaced last January by Les Schwab.
Any suggestions on a quick fix or do i need to bring it back to the mech?
Thanks in advance!
PS...Im new to this forum so I hope my etiquette is okay

Sean

Not sure but, I'd start by checking your caliper for corrosion. It might be hanging up the brake preventing it from retracting when you take your foot off the brake pedal.

Make sure your brake resevoir wasn't topped off with something OTHER than brake fluid. As unlikely as it sounds, i've seen it too many times to not consider it as a possibility. Any petroleum type liquid will cause all of the rubber seals to swell in the brake system- this will prevent the calapers from retracting which basically keeps them clamped. I hope this is NOT your case all of the brake components with rubber will neet to be replaced- and the rest of the system flushed.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the suggestions! I decided to take it back to Les Schwab to see if they would cover it.
Turns out the Caliber was defective/Faulty and they replaced it for free.
I would have pulled the wheel myself except it has been raining Cats and Dogs in Portland and I dont have a garage.

Best to ALL!
