Alternative ETACS for Pajero Full 3.8 5p 2008
 

Hello everyone, I live in Brazil and here there is always a problem with spare parts for imported vehicles, although we have improved a lot in recent years.
I recently purchased a Pajero Full 3.8 5P Model V97WLYXYL1FB 6G75 engine and unfortunately my ETACS burned out due to my error when changing an LED (very strange, this module should have been protected by a fuse, but it didn't work). Anyway, it burned out and it took me a while to find a replacement for the ETACS 8637A454. I found one exactly the same.
Now my question is, could other ETACS with other numbers (I found many with the same blue box, all the same statements regarding voltage and number of lamps, etc.) could be used in place of mine, if this were to happen again for some reason?
Does anyone have extensive knowledge in this area to contribute some information?
While we're on the subject, what is the best connector and software for me to make modifications to this ETACS?
