coolant leak
hi, i've got a montero sport that has developed a coolant leak located underneath ,near the passenger side frame rail, it seems foamy as it drips with the engine running. it also has no heat, although the temp gauge is up. Is there an auto trans fluid cooler in that area?thanks for any info!

RE: coolant leak
Maybe nobody replied because nobody ever had this happen before. I've sure never heard of it and never had it happen to any of the three Montero Sports I've owned. No need to be a dick about it just because nobody was able to help. Jeez.

RE: coolant leak
maybe next time instead of sitting down to your computer logging into this site and making 4 posts over 4 different days asking about it, you would just pop your hood and look for where the leak is coming from first!
glad i didnt help you. |
Rear auxiliary heater coolant leak
My '02 Montero Limited has developed the same problem. One day I saw a puddle under the back of the car. A pipe connected to the rear heater core started dripping from the point where the rubber hose is connected to the metal line.
This looks like an easy fix. Hopefully this will help some others with a similar problem. I'll follow up with my solution. Either new pipes from the dealer, bypassing the metal lines with HD heater hose, or possibly bypassing the rear heat altogether. Shawn |
The leak has been repaired. It cost me $280 to replace the coolant pipes with new OEM parts. No more drips on the driveway, :)
