Crankshaft pulley has been gone

Crankshaft pulley has been gone
Hi, I had a problem with my Montero sport 2006.
Losse pulley bolt disconnected alternator and power belts. Mechanic checked the status and advised we need to take engine out to fix crankshaft. I heard a reason for that is AC compressor.
i decided to fix but the question is shall I do any fixing or replace the AC compressor to avoid any further damage to crankshaft pulley?,
