Did I fry something?

Used to post here, but away for a while. Nice to be back. EXCEPT FOR MY NEWEST PAIN IN THE NECK PROBLEM>>>>>95 Montero SR sat for a while I was out of the country. Came back. Battery dead. Charged it. Would not hold charge. Jumped the car and it started. yahoo. Ran it about half an hour then shut it off to change the shocks. Went to start it. Nothing. Would not turn over. Nothing. Found a fusible link burned up and changed it. New battery. Now the car turns over, but won't start. Tried starting fluid in the throttle body to see if it has a spark. Nothing.
Think I fried something that controls the spark and checked all of the fuses and relays. Only the radio fuse was blown. Replaced that, but still no radio. so........where do I start this adventure? gas? spark? I can't even see the coil or any sparkplug wires to check the spark. Is there an ignition relay or circuit I can check? Obviously no spark because nothing happened with the starting fluid in the throttle body. Looking for ideas here. Thanks.

You need to do a spark test.Go to your Oriley's or autozone a get a spark tester.
Very easy to use. Cost about a few bucks and good to have.
All you have to do is pull the ign. coil's one by one and place the tester in place of the spark plug.
Have someone crank the engine a few times and see if the spark ( if any) will jump the gap.
Then do a compression test.
Post your results and I can help you further.

Spark Test - 95 Montero

I copy the bit about the spark test. Unfortunately the manual I have is rather vague - stuff like "Remove Engine" or "replace relay". Don't know where the coils are. I can't even feel the plug wires with my fingertips on this engine. Under the plenum. Anyway, where are the coils?

Check the connections to the battery and make sure everything is nice and clean and tight.

I'll try and take some pictures of the area for you and post it up later

Google and youtube will have some videos that you need to take a look at.
