Hi I own a 2002 montero mits and the harmonic balancer got taken out on an account of it being loose..I found one online and they either sent me the wrong one or i need a different part. My mom owned the car first and she got the engine switched out,but the mechanic she went to is out of business and she doesnt have the receipt. I was wondering if there was an interchangeale engine with the 2002 montero so i can at least narrow it down and get the right part....we are stranded untill we get this fixed. thank you

As for the harmonic balancer, it probably sheared off the keyway. It's a little rectangular sliver of steel that sits on the crank and locks onto the notch of the balancer pulley. I'm guessing it's not there anymore, for one reason or another...
