Help! 98 Montero Keyless Remote Lost, Truck Won't Start
 

I have a problem regarding the keyless entry system. When I purchased my Montero the previous owner only had one key fob. Recently I lost the fob and now I can't start my vehicle. I can unlock the doors with the key but the engine will not turn over. I need to bypass the system until I can receive a replacement fob. BTW I'm overseas so it'll take a couple of weeks to receive a replacement.

I can take fuse number 6 out of the fuse box under the hood which will stop the flashers and interior noise. I do have the shop manual but I'm not to familiar with circuitry. Can anyone provide assistance or advice on how I can get around this issue so I can drive?

One thing that I have found out is that the Keyless Entry Control Unit is not in the location where the shop manual shows it to be. I removed all of the passenger side rear quarter panel trim and there is nothing mounted in that wall.

Has anyone seen the control unit in another location? The door lock relay is behind the front speaker under the dash.

Also, has anyone grounded the #1 pin on the data link connector to reprogram a remote?
