HELP! Can't open REAR Hatch on 1999 Mitsubishi Montero Sport XLS LIMITED
 

Need some help on this please. The rear hatch to my 1999 Mitsubishi Montero Sport XLS Limited won't open no matter what we do. Tried the key, remote and pushing pulling on it but the door won't open.

If anyone can tell us how to get the door open, disassemble the handle on the hatch to get to the mechanisms or any other way we can get the door open and find out what's wrong so we can fix it, we'd appreciate it.

Any heads up or points to the instructions would be appreciated.

I had the same thing on my '02 ES a couple years ago. I took it to a local shop and somehow they got it open and took off the inside door panel. There is a $5 clip they replaced that connects the handle to the lock mechanism they replaced. Cost about $50 for the labor.
