Inclinometer

So how does one replace the fluid that's in the inclinometer gauge pod on top of the center dash? I've heard this is a common problem, as in Suzuki Samurais also. The gauge seems to want to work, but from what I can tell there's no fluid in there for the ball to float around in.

Man, this is a pretty dead forum...

Anyway, I removed the inclinometer from the gauge pod, drilled a very small hole at top on the back side, and used a syringe to fill the gauge with a mix of water and bleach. Sealed the hole with some black rtv, and will let it cure overnight before driving it to work.

The ball already seems to be somewhat righting itself, now that the gauge is filled with water. I'll keep an eye on it tomorrow during my drive to/from work, and see if it's working like it should.

Well, it doesn't look like adding fluid did the trick. The ball doesn't move around like a compass ball, pretty much stuck around the 11 o'clock position. Saw a couple of gauge clusters on eBay for about $60, so that might be the route I'll have to take in order to get a working inclinometer.
