MAF sensor

I have a 1997 mitsu montero 3.5 my car lately has been slow when I accelerate it's like something is restricting it also when this started happening the check engine light came on. I know there's nothing wrong with tranny. I was going to spray the MAF but noticed it's a karma vortex and it says on can do not use on mitsus any advice on what could be wrong and if anyone knows what would I use to clean the MAF with thanks

Have you pulled the codes? I would start there to make sure you're going after the right problem.

No Scott I'm gonna do it today Saturday once I wake up work nights just going to bed but thanks for responding

The codes will usually give you a pretty good idea what the general problem area is. If it isn't clear what to fix after you get the codes, post them on here and we can go from there.
