Montero Sport XLS died and won't restart

My 2001 Montero Sport suddenly wouldn't start while parked in store parking lot. Tried it again a few minutes later and it started and made it home and parked it. Next day it still wouldn't start, no noise, or sound from the ignition. Tried to jump start, but no luck. Cleaned battery posts and vehicle started. Drove it around the block and it died and had to roll it back down the hill. No service lights come on. Not sure what the problem is.

Multimeter it

Check for 12v on the battery. If not, throw it on a charger (or borrow a battery). Get the vehicle to start, and then check the voltage on the terminals. The reading should be higher than 13.5 volts, but less than 15 volts. If it is lower than 13 volts with the vehicle running then the alternator is toast. Did it run well before? No issues?

I have a similar problem. I would drive for a mile or so and it would die out. The problem according to the dealer is crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor needs to be replaced. I have yet to do either because they charge an arm and a leg. I would like to attempt myself, but from what I've been told it's crazy trying to get to both sensors.
