A newbie to the forum

Hello there. My name is Trevor.

Here's something interesting...several days ago I was searching online for a pair of front shocks and struts for a 2nd gen (1998) Montero. To my surprise, I stumbled upon what appears to be an inexpensive set of Sensen struts.

Here's the url: 7090-FS - SENSEN Shocks Struts, Front Pair, 2 Pieces, NEW, Lifetime Warranty at APX Auto Parts! Buy auto parts online|Buy Shocks & Struts online.

Anyways, since I'm on a budget 'affordability' is definitely a key factor. Followed closely by 'quality.'

Please let me know if you are looking to replace a front set of shocks and struts for a '92-'00 Montero. I'd like to touch bases with you. Thanks.

Hey trewat. I don't own a 1992-2000 Montero but I am on the lookout for a pair of struts for my 2002 Montero Sport. Because it's almost 15 yrs old I don't think I should have to pay a huge amount of money for parts. Just out of curiosity did you have any problems with your sensen parts? Are you satisfied with the quality too and not just the price?

I definitely understand where you're coming from bradyroker. My Montero's a '98 which means four years of more wear and tear, essentially. You're absolutely right though...parts for older vehicles should be more affordable.

Anyways, my experience with the Sensen brand has gone quite well actually. I don't really have any complaints thus far. Thanks for asking. Here's Sensen's website SENSEN Shock Absorbers and Struts |SENSEN North America, if you're interested.

Forgive me bradyroker I forgot to ask you whether you are looking for a set of fronts? Or rears? And oh by the way, you'll probably want a set of shocks (not struts). It's a common mistake. So, are you looking for a set of front shocks for your '02 Montero Sport? Or a set of rear shocks?

A pair of fronts is really what I need but a friend of mine suggested I should think about buying a pair of rears too. He said something about it's not such a good idea to have two different pairs on my suv. If the front two need to be replaced its only a matter of time before you're replacing the rear two. Makes sense.

I agree with your friend bradyroker. You should probably replace all four shocks.

So it looks as if you're going to need the rears too. You have the option of getting a set of front shocks Buy Sensen Front Pair Shocks Struts for 2000-2004 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, Warranty | 1213-0351, 1213-0351,344294, 32388 or a set of rear shocks Buy Sensen Rear Pair Shocks Struts for 2000-2004 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, Warranty | 1213-0352, 1213-0352,344295, 32389.

But if I were you, I wouldn't buy either one. It seems to me it would be somewhat cheaper to purchase the shocks as an entire set Buy Sensen Front & Rear Shocks Struts for 00-04 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, Warranty | 1213-0351, 1213-0351, 1213-0352, 1213-0352,344294, 344295, 32388, 32389 which helps you save $10-$15. But hey it's your decision.
