P0157...just replace?
So I was making a 75 mile trip up to Estes Park last night and my SES light came on again.
I just previously had the P0157 code thrown last week and had it cleared...now I am thinking it is back again. What O2 sensor is "Bank 2 - Sensor 2" and what route should I take with this?
Any help is much appreciated!

Do I need to replace the connector when I replace the 02 sensor that is faulty? Or could the connector be faulty?
Price change is substantial [:-]
Auto parts catalog.
Are there any recomendations as far as to what brand to use, or tips for replacement?
Am I safe just replacing the sensor and leaving the connector given I don't have an indication that the connector is faulty?
[sm=sorry.gif]for all of the beginner questions!
Did you disconnect the battery when you replaced o2 sensor by chance? The plug could be faulty, but it's unlikely. Maybe dirty, but plugs don't usually wear out unless they get burned a bit or any other physical damage.
Oh yeah, the link takes you to home page of the site. It always does that btw.

Sorry I have not been more clear, I have not replaced anything as of yet.
The light came on once and I had the code cleared to see if it would just go away. It came on again about a month later, and is no longer illuminated again, but this time went away without intervention.
Should I pay the $100+ for the 02 sensorwith the connector or just the sensor for$50?Or can I let this go?
Thanks for the link infoand the reply!

Well, there are two types. The "generic" where you have to splice a new plug to fit the new o2 sensor and then there's the OEM replacements that is a plug and play sensor + wiring. At this point you're basically paying for convenience of not having to solder anything with an OEM replacement. You just have to be careful on which generic that you buy. Sensors are where "you get what you pay for". So, think about that a bit. Is it worth going through a couple $50 generics (some are pretty cheap in quality) or just one OEM replacement?
The thing is, bank 2s is used for monitoring the catylitic converter or precat, where bank 1s monitor the actual air/fuel mixture.
Is your Sport running funny? Has the mpg lowered any?

It hasn't been running odd, but I have not been able to keep track of the milage at $50 a fill up
.
I have seen the Bosch w/connector for like $120 would that be considered OEM and plug right in? Do you have a site I can find the OEM replacement?

Well Idrove another 150 miles over the weekend and went off roading and camping (wahoo, got to exercise 4-wheel drive!).
No light, and at about 200 miles I have used a half tank of gas...may be able to figure out MPG next fill up.

Well I went and filled up over the weekend with 15.1 gallons of gas and had driven about 280 miles (don't have the exact #'s with me). Fuel consumption came to 18 MPG with a 60/40 split City/HWY as well as some slow gravel roads with the tranny in 2.
Do you think my 02 sensor is impacting my gas milage? The light has not came back on.
