Paint Code Confusion.
I am looking at the label on my Montero, and I see two paint codes listed:http://www.automotivetouchup.com/ima...int-code-1.jpg
Unlike this sample label, my label has two different codes. It has W09 on the bottom left, which is summit white, and WA9 on the top right, which is sophia white. The site I got this from says that the highlighted one is the paint code, but I don't get why the other one is there, especially when it is labeled 'ext.' My car is only one shade of white everywhere I can see... Thanks for any help. |
The ext is the external color .. the int opt is the optional international or internal color code. If you are trying to match the paint on the outside of your vehicle I'd use the ext code. Does that make sense ? Someone let me know if I'm wrong.

Thanks for the reply.. but the only thing I'm a little leery about is that while looking for touch-up paint, paintscratch.com lists the only white for my vehicle as WA9 (summit white), while automotivetouchup.com lists the only white as W09 (sophia white).

You made me go look at my car and the touchup paint I was given with the car. The touch up paint has the number A68 which is listed as the ext code on my plaque as A68A (sterling silver).
