Stock-Up on Parts for Montero'06
Hi,
I was enjoying my 2006 Montero for almost two years now; the only major problem I see is that the wait time for parts here in Canada is about 4-6 weeks. Would it make sense to pre-order some parts that I think I might need over the next 2-3 years? I've got 97k miles right now and usually drive no more than 10k miles per year. The parts I am considering are: the starter and all pumps like for fuel, brakes, coolant (assuming they are all unique for Montero). I am thinking even if I never use them they might add value for the next buyer if I decide to sell the vehicle. On the other hand I might be able to avoid inconvenience of 4-6 weeks of waiting. So what do you think, am I sound too paranoid? And if it does make sense, are those the right parts to pre-order or can you think of anything else from experience? Just wanted to get a second opinion before calling the dealer... Thanks, Andy |
Pre ordering parts in your case is probably the best thing you could do especially with a wait time of 4-6 weeks. Any preventive maintenance parts that are not available at your local parts store would be good to stock up on as well.
I know this doesnt help much but I wish you luck cheers |
