Thermostat Replacement

I have a 97 montero SR with the 3.5L engine. Where is the thermostat? Is it below the hose or in line with the hose? Any help is greatly appreciated!

t stats are normally located in a housin at the end of the radiator hose...im not sure about ur montero but in general thats where they r located
