Default Throttle body : can it be cleaned with sea foam?

my battery died on me and that caused my idle memory to get out of cal.
i need to clean my throttle body(i think thats what its called) with carb cleaner and a rag as I understand it.
i dont have any carb cleaner and can only seem to find a gallon can of the stuff in auto parts stores. I do have some sea foam and it says its for gas and diesel engines.
Will this work as well as the carb cleaner ?I plan on putting some on a clean cloth and wiping the throttle body clean with it.
Thx

They really do the same thing, they are both strong non polar solvents. They both come in spray cans, and in bulk they come in jugs. You should be able to find both really easily. If an auto parts store doesn't have carb cleaner, I don't know who the **** is running the place.

EDIT: That crap, is seafoam. Snake oil bull**** that does more harm than good.

I rarely go to auto parts stores, but go to walmart alot for many things. It was there that i couldnt find carb cleaner . Maybe i just missed it. Ill have to check again or just go to a regular auto parts store.

Thanks again

the other thing will work is electrical or co contact cleaner. Complete evaporation, no film.
