I have recently acquired a 1990 Montero Sport 2dr 4x4. I'm excited to get to play with it. But it has a problem with the rear transfer case, traction control to be precise. It likes to kick on and off randomly in 2wd under normal driving conditions. Oil is good and I doubt it's a gear problem (could be wrong). I'm thinking it's a sensor problem. Has anyone ever had to deal with this problem before? Any helpful thoughts, suggestions, references would be greatly appreciated.
