2005 Outlander right rear Caliper over $340!??
Need a right rear caliper for a 2005 Outlander LS AWD. Called all the local part stores, none have it in stock, and believe it or not, they said they cannot order it either. Called the dealer, he said something to the effect that the caliper was re-design and that a new right rear caliper is over $340 dollars!
You have got to be kidding me!!! Anybody have any answers to this nonsense? |
Is there a reason you need a new caliper?
See if it can be repair, there are places that re-build calipers. Dealer is stupid, no way should you pay that much! Maybe you can order one online? |
Its a good bit cheaper through us. Link Below :)

Normally you could pick up a caliper for about $50-80 for any typical vehicle, so I was just going to replace it. That is until I saw the price. I might just get a rebuild kit for it. Looking at the link provided to mitsubishiparts.net, still shows how stupidly expensive this part is. That is just ridiculous. If this is what I got to look forward too in the future for parts for this car, I might just sell the thing and get a vehicle that is more affordable to maintain. |

The caliper is hanging up (sticking), thought it might be under warranty still so had the dealer look at it, they agreed that was the problem. But car is no longer under warranty.

2007 Chrysler 300. Rear Caliper $69.99 + Core charge (Autozone). 2005 Jeep Liberty, Rear Caliper $55.49 + Core charge (NAPA). 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES, Front Caliper $62.49 + Core (NAPA). There are 3 examples of a "cheap" caliper from two different auto part stores. Now, to me that is a lot cheaper... would you agree? |

Lets look up some of these vehicles that would have been sold at your dealership for parts that you would sell:

OE calipers are new.
The ones from Napa are generally Chinese remanufactured crap. |
