2007 a/c stopped blowing

My wife's 2007 (3.0 V6) a/c quit blowing air. I can hear the fan kick on but nothing comes out of the vent. When accelerating from a stop I can feel cold air if I put my hand up to a vent. I tried turning on the heater but still no air coming from any of the vents. I'm thinking this is a vacuum hose issue but, I'm not a mechanic. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Normally, I'd you have a loss of vacuum, air will come out of the defrosters by default. If that isn't the case, check for air from the floor vents.

You could also check the fan motor itself. Remove the hard plastic cover where your shins would be.....and the motor is right there. Three screws and it is removed from the bottom.

I took the car out yesterday and while I was out the a/c started working. The fact that it is randomly working plus, not blowing air from any of the vents now leads me to believe I am dealing with a mechanical issue.

Ccernst, thanks for the advice on the fan. I'll check it out next.

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ccernst thanks again for the help. It looks like the fan motor was the issue.

I learned the hardway...it is best to get a replacement from mitsubishi. I tried to go the cheap route and get a "four seasons" fan. The first one whistled. The replacement made a kind of growling noise due to the motor itself. OEM replacement works flawlessly.

If you really want to get wild, you can take the motor out of the housing and re-grease the bottom bearing/bushing. But that only worked for about a year in my situation.
