Cool 2011 Outlander and 2008 Lancer Navi units compatible?? Plese HELP

Purchased of ebay original navigation mmc unit, seller says it was pulled from 2008 lancer. Will it work on my 2011 mitsu outlander XLS? Dealer tells me that they are not compatible... Is that true?

When they introduced the FUSE system that added some extra pins. So it most likely won't be plug and play. You can check the service manual for a pre and post FUSE Lancer/RVR/Outlander to confirm. It may be simply your Bluetooth/USB won't work anymore and it just plugs in.

Is it going to be a plug and play? Will the USB work?

Anyway to get Bluetooth work as I really need to use hands free with my phone

I believe it will be plug and play minus the bluetooth. To get usb to work, a software update MIGHT do it. I'm not sure.

To get bluetooth to work, you need a new MMCS version N-04 and up. The current one out is N-06. So roughly 2010 models and up. You can find that number on the front of the unit and the rear label.

The 08 one is probably n-01. So you will not be able to get the factory bluetooth to work.

Try crutchfield. They might have an aftermarket bluetooth that may or may not work. Might be worth a shot. If not, sell your MMCS and buy a newer version, N-04, N-05 or N-06
