Default 2014 Brake Light

How dose the lens cover come off to change brake light. Owners manual says to remove the 2 screws and pull cover towards rear of veh. Tried that and it won't budge. I don't want to break off any clips inside.

I have a 2014 outlander and I've pulled both sides of the complete taillight/brakelight/turn signal assembly outer lens off several times. After you remove the screws, you need to put your left hand over the far outer part of the entire lens housing on the outside of the vehicle and gently, with just a little bit of force slide the entire assembly unit back towards the rear of the vehicle. It's held on by 2 clips, 1 on the top and 1 on the bottom and as long as you slide it straight back, you won't break the clips and it will then just rest in your hand. You do this for both sides. I did this to replace to the stock lamps with LED tail/brake bulbs and they are much, much brighter than the stock halogen.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply,I tried this as you describe and could not get it to budge. Not much room to get fingers in there for a good grip but will try again.
