2014 Outlander PHEV

Anyone excited about the 2014 Outlander PHEV? I am strongly considering trading in my 07 for one. Heres a link to a preview of its unveiling at the upcoming Paris motor show.

2014 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is the World

I hope it can stay under 40K. We all know how the Volt is doing with that ridiculous prize tag. I would still consider it if its near 40K given the tax incentives it would bring it close to 30K. For all the technology it seems like a fair price. I am specially intrigued about its AWD system.

Here is another link to a Mitsubishi site with more info to be released as it comes available at the
show.

I am wondering if the PHEV will use the same 4J11 that the new Outlander will have?
If so, that engine is rated at about 150hp, each electric motor on the PHEV is 80hp. Add the two motors plus the 2.0 engine and this thing is making roughly 310HP!

I am willing to bet we will see a similar system with similar numbers on the Evo XI.

OTO27,

I am very excited about this vehicle. It doesn't seem to be getting much attention so I started a new fan site dedicated to it at www.insideoutlander.com. Please check it out and let me know what you think.

According to a fellow over in Netherlands (one of the first markets to get the PHEV), the ICE will be de-tuned a bit down to 114hp (85kW). However that still provides 274hp total between the 3 motors which is still decent. And it will be able to tow up to 3300lbs which no other plug-in can do at the moment!

Agreed (and I own a Volt ;)). The good news is so far it is being priced well below a Volt in the early markets (Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand). In fact I posted a full article about this at my site. It should also qualify for a $5800 tax credit here in the states thanks to it's 12kWh battery. So your hopes for a low $30s starting point seems quite feasible!

I just bought the new Outlander PHEV in The Netherlands. I chose the version with all available options called "Instyle plus", colour Titanium Grey. It will be delivered July 2013. Until then I'll happily continue to drive my '07 Outlander.

How much more is it then a regular fully loaded Outlander in Netherlands.

Extra's Instyle (compared with non-electric Instyle versions) are:
o Mitsubishi Remote Control, controlled by iPad/iPhone or Android App (info about Batteries and activation of Climate Control);
o Electrical Heating.
Extra's for Instyle+ are:
o Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB, stream music from Phone or Tablet to the MMCS);
o Forward Collision Mitigration;
o Adaptive Cruise Control;
o Lane Departure Warning.

Anyone knows what's the pricing on PHEV version in Europe?

Peet 01-17-2013 02:28 PM

Consumer prices incl taxes in the Netherlands:
PHEV Intense+ € 43.490
PHEV Instyle € 48.990
PHEV Instyle+ € 51.990

Looking forward to reviews. Very most likely will be trading in my 2007 for this.
