2015 outlander sport steering
Hello,
I have a 2015 outlander sport ES. The steering is dangerously sloppy. This is the first electric power steering that I have owned, evidently there is no way to dampen the steering. This vehicle is new to me. I knew that there was a problem in the summer, if you hit a pot hole the vehicle skips all over. If you drove into standing water on the road you could be heading for the ditch.
The tires were replaced, the front struts were replaced. no difference. I had my mechanic check all of the suspension and steering components. There are very few moving parts.
Now that we have snow, running in 4lock is slightly better than 2wd maybe. If you drive up a plowed road at 15mph in 4lock and hold the steering straight with two fingers the car will veer to the right or left without moving the steering wheel and then you may feel tugging in the steering wheel back and forth. So, You are in a constant counter steering fight.
Any ideas?
Thanks
