95,000 Required Maintenance
I have a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS now at 95,000 miles so far I have changed the oil and filter regularly, replaced the battery, alignments, New Wheels and tires.
Which other maintenance is required and please start with the order of importance from most needed to do to least needed. Thank-You. |
If yours has a timing belt - I'd start there. Because if that goes - well… nothing else will really matter, right?
Probably have the fluids checked and replaced as needed. What does the manual call for? |

If you haven't done so and have awd, change rear diff and tcase fluids. The 3.0 liter from 07 - 09 are non interference engines...so if you snap a timing belt, not the end of the world. No broken valves, pistons, or heads. |
Did you change the rear differential oil? Since it has the clutch pack for 4wd in it.
Also, change your coolant?? |

You're supposed to change the coolant at 90k miles according to the manual.
It doesn't really say to ever change the rear axle oil, but to check the level of it. However, it should be a fully sealed system, so unless you have a leak it should be ok. It also says to check transmission oil often for level and condition. But not really to change it unless it's bad. You are supposed to change your transfer case oil at 60k miles. |
Any other important maintenance that should be done? How much does a timing belt replace cost? Thank you.

got all three gates belts from amazon for $70, going to tackle in the next week or two,
fyi on the coolant change the drain plug runs very slow, do not be rushed, because a couple more turns turns into a full on spray in all directions, I found that out the hard way also did the power steering fluid last year, and the old fluid had actually created a muck on the reservoir inner wall, took it off and soaked in dishwater overnight to loosen |
