I've been on the forum for a while and read a lot of reviews on the Navi HU (made in China).

I'm a Chinese, I got my 2010 Outie XLS and also I'm an importer here in Canada. Most of the time, I dealt with dealerships and whole sellers, so not really ready to sell anything here yet, but sharing what I've got.

needless to say, I have done a lot of research and came across many different brands from China. After tried stock 6 CD, FlyAudio and the MMCS ,

I finally got this one, branded Caska.

The problem we usually have from these aftermarket (made in China) machines:

1. NOT compatible with the stock equipment, i,e, the RockFord system, the bluetooth and the steer wheel control.

2. bad bluetooth quality

3. bad built quality, usually break down after 3 or 6 months

4. no support or very limited warranty.

Considering all these possible problems, here are what I found so far (you may notice I have not complete the installation yet)

1. this new machine I got is totally plug and play.

I got the RockFord system in my Outie and I did purchased a Mito-2 interface when I install the FlyAudio unit. I tried the same method with this new one and found everything was okay except I can not control the volume. That is when I decide to just try the cable come with it. You know what, everything just work like a charm. (except the stock bluetooth.)

Here is what I got so far:

All buttons on steer wheel works, including the 3 bluetooth buttons. They are assigned to switch to GPS, answer the phone and mute. Because the Stock bluetooth will not function anyways, I see this like a plus.

RockFord system works perfectly, plug and play.

The bluetooth model in the machine is the latest version with AD2D supported. The call history of the phone and ipod playlist are supported as well.

Machine firmware is fast and the screen is very responsive.

The remote control came with it is very useful for the backseat

iPod cable is long enough to wire to the central Arm rest box

Things I'm working on:

I'm wiring the RCA input to the stock jacks in the central arm rest box.

I'm waiting for a analog TV antenna to test the built in TV (which is using the same port of Satellite radio which is not included in my order)

Complete the installation and play with the setting options.

I have attached some pictures of the progress so far. Let me know your thoughts.

Here are the updates on June 11:

I have completed all the installation. Basically, 90% of the installation took me about 15 min to complete since it is all plug and play and I have already got a backup camera installed.

the 10% left was RCA inputs in the central box. I have found a lot of instructions showing how to wire/connect them to MMCS, but not much for aftermarket HU. Here are what I found:

1. the audio inputs are on the smallest connector

https://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/at...1&d=1307977021

Yellow and brown are audio + and black is groud

2. the video input is on the largest connector

https://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/at...1&d=1307977115

The wires on large connector are too short, I've use a connector from the MMCS to get the video and ground out, the light blue and black/purple wire. Just in case anybody need to know exactly which ones are they, here is another pic:
https://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/at...1&d=1307977261

I have cut and wire a set of RCA male wires to outie, to make it easier to hook up to any devices.

Here is a test screen using iphone's camera:

I will upload a video clip to caska.ca showing the full functions.

Have a nice week folks.

Whered you purchase from?

I bought a chinese unit for my cx-7 and it just Died after 6 months, worst part is the Vendor (From Missisaugua) has dissapeared and wont return emails.

Caska has a better reputation but they have no service over here in Canada or US. They do in Europe and SE Asia etc.

and yes Go Canucks....Great game last night...Thomas saved Boston areses froma blowout...

greatcat 06-02-2011 04:15 PM

Hey, yeah it was really an exciting game.

I got the unit together with some other models as samples from Caska directly. The brand is not yet in north America but there are a lot of Oem machines here since long time ago.

Not sure what brand your cx7 was using, but that was exactly the problem people are worrying about these machines.

Just in general, machines from Flyaudio and Caska have much better quality than others. There are hundreds of factories in china making these kind of machines
