Anyone with an outlander get beamed?
Hey I have a '11 Mitsubishi outlander GT facelift with the Xenon lights, all which are properly aligned by a trusted mechanic, and I seem (actually lately more than ever) to have people beam me. I asked my friend who owns a BMW with H.I.D's if he gets beamed, and he says only occasionally. I'm not sure what his "occasionally is," but it seems like I get beamed at QUITE a lot with the outlander. I keep my cutoff very low too (at 1 notch, sometimes all the way down), I mostly drive highway where its pretty well lit, and I use my foglights when it gets really dark if I'm going upstate. But still I get beamed a good amount. I NEVER use the brights. Some guy part of this group who think its their destiny to inform citizens of their high beams actually took TIME out of his agenda (if he had one) to follow me on the highway, with his beams me, only temporarily turning them off when someone else went by. I finally got the message, slowed down to let him by, but he just slowed down with me until I was creeping on the highway. He sped off and I proceeded to do the same thing to him, sped past, and he realized I hadn't had my brights on, and hopefully felt like a major jackass.
Anyways, point of this thread is, do you other outtie owners get beamed alot? Is it just a poor housing design? Or are these cars not any worse than other typical projection style cars. Just curious, because when I'm taking the backroads home at 11 at night, where there are animals roaming the street, I find it rude someone would temporarily blind me just because they THOUGHT I had my brights on and risk me hitting a road obstacle. I mean its not that bad, but its really rude. And everything is set up correctly on the car, hell their stock headlights and I had them adjusted 2 days after I bought the car new from the dealership. Any feedback? And anything I can do to possibly adjust my headlights to better suit these picky jerks? I mean aside from simply driving without my headlights... But then I'd get beamed for that too, wouldn't I? |
Ni, with a '12. Stock HID"s.
Your outlander sits higher than a BMW? |
I have a few times since I've gotten mine. I have stock hids as well. They don't be long dimming their lights back down once I flick my high's
