Default ATF transmission 3.0L fluid/filter change HELP

Need to change fluid and filter (?) in 2018 outlander sport AWC silver anniversary edition, v6 3.0L with the paddle shifters.
there is SO much differing information online. Local dealer states they “normally don’t” change the filter, same with the next closest one which is 2.5 hours away. Fluid was a nightmare to find at $38/L as every place wants to sell CVT. And parts forget it.
Question is. Is it actually a replaceable filter? Permanent filter?
owned car since almost new, first change which is late because first import so used to Chevy which trans fluid change is done way later
Any insights appreciated.
Google is being less than helpful because I’m finding 90% info for the 2.4L 4cyl
thank you!!

Don't bother with the filter. And I'm assuming you mean Outlander, not Outlander sport. There are alternatives to the fluid if you look around. I buy mine for ~$35 for 4 litres.

Mitsubishi agents here in NZ dont seem to know the answer either as they always refer to the 2.4l engined units for everything and when you point out that the vehicle is a V6 3.0l model the facial look of confusion appears. But for more info to confuse the situation refer to thread

Diaqueen j2 vs j3 for a 2009 V6 outlander

either way as long as you have a quality transmission oil and a good cooler it should work ok.

It's important to change the trans fluid with the cvt transmission.Don't delay.I'm not familiar with the 3.0.I've been doing a drain and fill with my 2. many times and the car is fine after 12 years of use.
