Bluetooth Intermittently Working
2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Hey friends, the Bluetooth goes in and out when I'm on a call. I have to pick up the phone when it goes out, then it jumps back to the speakers. Unusable especially on business calls. It didn't happen until several weeks ago, working fine before that. Dealer not willing to do anything. Ideas what the problem may be? I did delete and re-sync the phone, no help.
Thanks,

Thanks,
I have this same issue in my 2013 RVR (Outlander Sport in the US or ASX everywhere else). My bluetooth and USB flash drive connections just drop randomly. The dealership replaced the bluetooth controller on my vehicle and the amount of dropped connections went from 5 every trip to maybe 1 every 5 trips which is an improvement but still very annoying. I've tried multiple cell phones and multiple USBs, all did the same thing. My next plan of action is to replace the battery, during testing I noticed that the interior lights dim as if they were losing power whenever this disconnect happened.
It's a very frustrating issue. I was at the dealership today and they were saying that because the car is over 3 years old now they would need to charge a diagnostic fee first and to dive in anymore would cost more. The service manager was giving me some BS about my phone blaming it on that.

I have the sme issue. While on a call the bluetooth will cut out and then after a few seconds cut back in. It makes it very annoying to make a call! I have tried resetting the electronics by disconnecting the battery, I have deleted and repaired my phone to the car and still the same issue. I am going to replace my phone this afternoon and see if maybe the phone is the issue but after finding this thread I am skeptical that the phone is the issue. The car in question is a 2015 Mitsubishi outlander sport.
I am also having this issue, I have a 2012 Outlander. I thought that maybe it was my old phone causing the disconnects, but I just replaced it with a newer phone and it is still having the same issues. I am having it looked at today by the dealership, but they didn't sound too confident about it. I don't have a warranty on the electronics anymore, so if they do find something, it will probably cost alot to replace the stereo.

Hi! Did the dealership ever fix this for you? I know it's been a few years... my 2012 Outlander also has a weird Bluetooth/USB issue. It went out shortly after purchase in 2018 and stayed out. Miraculously, it popped back on before a road trip in 2019 but again went out since.
The USB/BT unit in Outlanders is bad by design. To have a BT/USB unit separately from the main stereo is a BAD idea.
I have updated BT software/firmware a couple of times on myy 2013 Outlander but, while some bugs were fixed a bunch of new ones appeared.
At the end, I've replaced whole stereo unit and trashed that USB/BT unit.
I use Alpine stereo, look at my posts how to connect steering buttons.

It is not hard, but pointless in my opinion. You will get new disappointing bugs. Also, there is a risk that something will go wrong during the update and unit will not boot.
