brake rotors and caliper

Also don't forget dimpled rotors.
Here are some cheaper brands that I am familiar with (I know of people who used them with success)
CQuence rotors:

Brakemotive
http://stores.ebay.com/Brakemotive
(this one IS cheap, but people I know have used them with success)
Also these are supposed to be great pads. But they are pricey:

Co Speed is one of the top brands for Mits. Sounds cool it has the full brake kit available, the picture on the website seems only has one set of rotors and calipers, don't know how many pieces parts coming all together, and of course, the price. and do you know if they only has the silver color calipers available with the kit, otherwise, i still have to paint them myself before putting it on....but by doing that, i will ruin the original cold speed marks, which i wouldn't to bother...
back to the rotors surface rust, are you suggesting that is totally fine except the pitting exist? so seems there's no stainless steel rotors or at least not popular? are those racing rotors just having a coat of bright silver plating, and eventually will rust??...

The finish will be more durable than painting over debris, and this will cost much less than the Colt-Speed full brake kit. These calipers come in the one finish, and painting them is not recommended.
As for rust on rotors, even brand-new cars on the lot will have a bit of rust on the rotors. This disappears after a few miles of driving. If yours seem much worse, then a brief inspection by a qualified technician will set your mind at ease. The technician will not need to put the vehicle on a hoist, nor will it be necessary to remove any of the wheels. Most technicians will gladly assist, as this visual inspection will only take a few moments.
As an alternative or an addition to, post a photo for all to see and comment upon.

thanks a lot, RAMON, sounds great! so don't we have to worry about the rust on the rotors? are those 'carbonz' rotors stainless steel? by the way, what is the wire wheel you used to remove the rust?
i did a little search, and seems like Brembo don't have rotors for Outie...so which lancer model is compatible with our Outie??

As for the compatable rotors I would call the company.

Rust on rotors is normal. As soon as you drive the car and hit brakes once - it is gone.
I don't see a problem.
As for cross drilled or slotted rotors... You realize that by drilling and slotting, some of the rotor surface area is removed, right? You need as much surface area for the best stopping.
Also expect your pads to wear out sooner with drilled and slotted rotors.
Also the expensive drilled rotors you see on expensive performance cars are very different from the cheaply drilled "made in China" rotors you can find on Ebay - the expensive ones are cast with the holes in them. The cheap ones are made from cheap blanks, and holes are drilled into them often without any special preparation. Often the holes are drilled straight through the cooling vanes, which leads to premature rotor failures (like cracking).
P.S. rotors don't warp. "Warping" is a wrongly used term.

2005 Outlander Caliper issue
I need a new caliper and the dealership wants $412 for one!!! Any ideas on a less expensive replacement options? This is my second Mitsubishi and the transmission went on my Galant with 62,000 miles and this caliper replacement has me none too happy currently...

that would be for a new caliper. go to a parts store and get two reman calipers. like rotors, replace them in pairs. I made that mistake on my Ranger...it is not fun. A-1 Cardone is a major reman company.
if you do this yourself, get yourself a brake bleeder kit. If you aren't comfortable bleeding your brakes, might want to check out another mechanic's shop. Nothing special about our calipers.

just had my breaks done on my Outy for the first time in 4 years. my 07 XLS had a slight wiggle feeling in the steering when braking hard. The truck has been in the dealer ship 2 times past few months for minor things and they had never mentioned i needed pads or rotor. i ended up finding this out the hard way when i heard grinding and stopping power had dminished. ended up replacing all 4 pads and 2 front rotors cuz they were warped.
curious for next time, can the OEM brake rotors for the Outy be cut down, there kinda expensive. mechanic said no they cant is this true?

Just wanted to share a great place to get rotors and pads.
ROTORPROS - Performance Brakes - Brake Pads, Brake Rotors and Brake Kits
I am getting rotors for my GTO from them, and they are getting great reviews on the internet, including another Mitsubishi forum (an Evo forum)
