A/C blows only on bottom

the other day me and my honey were cruising to my to my friends house. when she decides to say that she is hot, so i turn on the a/c and then i put the cold air on the bottom to cool down our feet. so after a few minutes with the a/c blowing on the bottom i decide to put the cold air back to the top. when i turn the little knob back to the top vents the shutter wont close and the air stays blowing on the bottom. so i call the dealer and they say they will fix it for free but as far as they know they could keep it for 3 days or more. that is when my manly instinct kicks in and i decide to fix it myself. so the front part of the dash is taken off and the problem is the cable that opens the shutter for the vents was just a tad loose. so i pull it back into place and the problem is fixed. was just wondering if yall had any problems like this and if it were to happen to you, you could be able to fix it yourself.

RE: A/C blows only on bottom

sounds like your manly instincts were correct. I think we have all had that moment but i haven't had any problems with vents only the blower motors.
