Default Climate Control - 2010 Outlander

When I have the AC on, the fan seems to go on an off on a pretty constant basis when I have the car parked. The sound is not that noticeable from inside the car but pretty loud from the outside. Has anyone else experienced this?
I initially thought it was due to the auto setting on the climate control fan button, but I turned it to the manual setting and it still goes on and off. Is this normal or should this be something that I should get diagnosed?

Every Outlander is quite loud from the outside with A/C on. Not much you can do about it...

Is it normal for the fan to keep going on and off?

it'll crank up the fan every time the AC compressor cycles on. It does it quite often and is quite loud. The AC works very well though.

I think you are hearing the electric engine cooling fan. It is more noticable with the AC on because the load causes the engine to heat up with no airflow because you are parked. The thermostat kicks on the cooling fan. You can check by starting the car, while it is cool, manually turn the climate fan on high and see if this is the sound you are hearing. I would expect it is not the same sound.
I hope this makes sense. Mine does the same thing.
Good Luck.

If you have the vent aimed at the screen then the A/C can't be turned off. The light may be off but the A/C is still on. That may be why you hear the fan all the time.
