Loved my 03 Montero I bought at 10miles. It now has 80k. I was going to sell it and keep my Highlander Hybrid because of gas BUT I drove the highlander 500 miles and it was SOOO UNCOMFORTABLE.. Someone is buying 11 Highlander next week since it is the only one in the state hehe..28mpg I guess but it's not for long drive nor for mountain/fishing trips. Did I say I brought my Montero to the Philippines 06-10? Loved it and it's back in one piece..

Niche product... not in any "special" way, with very poor retail and service representation in North America and other countries.

I realise the OP is not in Europe but for anyone else reading this thread considering an Outlander in the UK I have to agree 100% with the comments above.

Niche product with "Mickey Mouse" dealerships and horrendous depreciation.

Spend your money elsewhere.

Playing devil's advocate...if you can turn a wrench, the Outlander is a wonderful choice. We picked ours up when it was 2yrs old and with a broken down trade-in...we got a hell of a deal.

In those circumstances I can't disagree. I made the mistake of buying new.

I don't have a major gripe with the car itself; it's the overall "ownership experience" that disappoints.

Update...

On Aug 25th we took delivery of a new 2011 Outlander LS V6, red with cloth interior. Bought from Peterborough Mitsubishi in Ontario, Canada. We got them to throw in roof rack cross bars, bug deflector, mud flaps, all weather mats, trunk tray, and trailer hitch. We took it on one long trip so far and were happy with it. Averaged 8.8L/100 km (mostly hwy)...now has just over 800 kms on it. Will be coming back with more questions no doubt :D

Thanks to everyone for their input!

I'am new to this forum. I also love my 2007 Outlander. My lease runs out in 05/2012. Really considering leasing a 2012 GT fully loaded. So far in my search and with comparing other SUV'S the Outlander can't be beat especially considering all the options and the cost!

4 years ago when I bought one it was the best option out there, but today there are more options. I would seriously consider Kia Sportage GDI 260hp turbo charged for same price.

Purchased an Outlander 2011 SE AWC recently... got $4,800 of MSRP price... is this a good deal? Located in PA....

I got mine in February and got a similar deal plus .9% financing.

Yes, I say that was a good deal!
