I had heard that tinting the front windows on the outlander had problemsbecause its a very tight fit and has been scoring the film on the glass.

and yes it illegal in the UK too

^^ Looking good!!

The tint may get marks when you put down the window, but as I have noticed, I already get marks without tint on my front-side windows. I believe the tinter can place something in there to prevent this from happening.

Hey-

i purchased a "regular" sizes shade - it was too short...

i purchased a "jumbo/XL" size shade - it was WAY too big...

This is why I'm confused. Perhaps Mitsu makes one specifically for this car...

Okay-

It seems that our windshield is about 31" from the base of the dashboard to the top of the headliner. Because of this, if your read any of the literature on the backs of the various sunshades you can purchase, you'll find:

standard sizes are anywhere from 23" to 24" high
jumbo sizes are 32" high.

Neither really works - the standard are too short and not wide enough and the jumbo sizes are far too big....I know secretly, there are some Japanese designers laughing at us in a far off country - which, to be perfectly honest, is alright with me. I'm just frustrated....lol

Sirnewt,
Try to find a pair that are oval shaped and try them with oval one way then the other to see which gives better coverage. I have to put mine long ways up/down to fit the windshield, but they cover 98% of it with asmall gap near the lower center dash. The tag on mine is all tore up so i don't know the brand, but i'm 90% sure they are from Walmart (and 10% they are from Target). I'll measure mine tonight and get back to you on the dimensions.

Okay-

So I finally found a "jumbo" sized shade (waffled foil - accordian type) at Target that is like 27" tall and fits perfectly in the front windshield - it was only $10 total, I believe. Target didn't have them out since it was still "winter" - go figure. Just thought I'd share

@puddy

I saw that in your picture signature (BTW nice color)you do not have tinted back and side back windows. Is it just bad picture or all windows can not be tinted in UK?

Here you can see my Outi.
