I'm feeling some great internal resistance to shelling out $40 for a Mit. mixture of what is essentially 2 litres of demineralized water and 2 litres of glycol with a few additives. The service manual states about 10 litres of coolant, so I'm going to need 3 gallons and 3x$40=$120. The Peak I linked above can be bought for $15 for the gallon of concentrate, so I'll only need 2 gallons, which will equal $30. Which would I rather spend, $30 or $120? Tough choice.

Anybody know what the specifications are for Mitsubishi's coolant/antifreeze part number MZ320125? If I know what those OEM specifications are, I can find an aftermarket match for them.

Also, while I'm at it, I've looked at the Mit. shop manual procedure for draining coolant. Does this procedure drain the block, as well, or should I be looking for a removable plug on the block? For example, here in Canada most new vehicles have a block heater as they come from the dealer. Can/should I temporarily remove the heating element in order to fully drain the block?
