DIfferent Hitch's????

I've been looking to install a hitch on my outlander and well, crap they have so many. What do you guys suggest? I'm looking at a Curt but they have 3 that fit it and well autozone has 5? Should I go w/ a class 2 or 3? it's like $60 difference just for the Curt... I'm doing the work myself since the Stealership wants $600 to put one on. Thanks for the input...

I recently fitted this one. Curt, class III and only $102 incl delivery. Took about 45 mins to fix of which approx 30 mins was removing the exhaust hangers. Don't think you will get much better deal than that.

ben, great find! I may be moving to St Louis and may enlist the Outlander to help pull a trailer.

It certainly seems a good quality towbar - I have been very happy with it. Easy to fit and very sturdy.

I bought the Curt off Amazon and was so simple and instructions were color photos, foolproof install. Couldnt be happier.

Yes it is certainly very easy to install and I wouldn't pay a dealer to fit it.

Interestingly, the price on Amazon fluctuates massively. It was $102 when I posted the link last week and is now $142. I bought mine in July and it was $141 then. So, if anyone is interested in buying one and timing isn't urgent, it is probably worth watching the price for a week or two and seeing if it drops back down again. $142 is still a good price, but if you can get it cheaper...

This stinks...I was going to buy it today...PAYDAY. but now the price for it, the wireing, ball, etc was 152.00 and now just the hitch is that much....What happened? UGH now it's at the ebay price.

I goot the Curt class 3 from o0ne of the on-line hitch sellers for $165.00 shipped. Get the Mitsu wiring harness. Very easy to install. The hardest part is finding the plug under the hood to power it. Got that from an on-line OEM parts seller for $70.00.

The aftermarket harness is about $45.00 or so, but it is also a lot more work to install. The Mitsu is plug and play and well worth the extra bucks.

If anyone is searching online for this, I think the correct part number is MZ313815. See here, although I haven't done a search to look for cheaper places.

Unless you are in a desperate rush, just wait for a week or so and watch the price on amazon. The price often fluctuates, so if you are patient, you may be able to get it at lower price. Also, remember the amazon price includes postage when comparing prices. Good luck!

Looks like $140-$150 is the new set point on price, I've watched this since the post and never below 140
