Disable Internal Alarm Sensors

Just wondering if it's possible to disable the internal sensors for the alarm? I know you can hold up on the wiper lever to temporarily disable it but I've already forgotten to do it and my poor dog was stuck in the vehicle with the alarm going for 10 or 15 minutes.

There's 3 sensors and they're ultrasonic, right? Have you tried simply taping them up?

I have heard this a dealer adjustable function. I was told the sensitivity could be adjusted. I hate that in the summer, if I leave the sunroof open, the alarm always goes off. I have not talked to the dealer about this yet.

Just a followup note on this as others might be wondering. I checked with the service manager at the dealership yesterday and they told me it cannot be disabled completely, just temporarily by holding up on the wiper for 3 seconds (as stated in the manual).

They did say it has multiple sensitivity settings and that it was set at the lowest one possible (don't know if they changed it while I had my car in or that factory default is the lowest - never bothered to ask that question).

Can't you just disconnect it physically? Just pry out the thing from the ceiling and there should be a connector which you can disconnect and pop the thing back in. Refer to the service manual to find out where to pry/clip locations.
