That's correct, and TMC information can be transmitted via RDS too. But the receiver needs a special tuner to decode the info, something which Mitsubishi skipped for the US MMCS until today. The presence of a TMC/RDS tuner in the US MMCS is something not confirmed yet. The EU versions of the MMCS has more radio tuners (FM/MW/LW) with 3 groups of FM presets (compared to 2 groups for US).

If TMC shows as N/A, then I have the solution. I forgot the part number, but here is a diagram with the PNC number. Just print this out and give it to the dealership. They will be able to get the part.

It was roughly $30. And takes 5 minutes to click in. Then the RDS works. You just have to scan and find a station. Once you find one it is saved.

Only enables TMC traffic updates. does not show FM music info. SORRY!

Can you make a pic of RDS screen?

I upgraded my N-02 to N-05, no antenna was included.

I've connected 2 wires between both connectors, now TMC works, I can see RDS messages in TMC setup, yet radio does not show anything new.

Ohh ****. My bad guys. I didnt have a solution....

What ended up happening was I got a PM at the evox forums about the jumper cable to get the traffic messages to work. and the guy posted a link to this forum. So without even reading the thread I just posted that info.....It was after a 14 hour work day.....please excuse me lol

My bad.... we can delete it now. no FM radio messages. Just traffic updates

Any update on this guys?

I just installed a nav unit in my 2012 lancer. It was easy plug and play, everything works fine except it is showing TMC Antenna = N/A

I've been looking online extensively but can't seem to find anything...except this thread which appears to be dead...

Thanks!

Get an antenna ($40 part) or just make your own like I did. Two pieces of wire, one is being used as TMC enabling switch.

No progress with RDS reception yet
