First oil change....

Yesterday I went for my first oil change on myOutie V6, and I would like to know what is the gold can that they put with the oil, the dealer called it performance booster oil and sell it for 5,00$ on the bill. Is this a good thing to put in the Mivec engine. Thank you!!

There are many oil additives out there that claim to increase the lubricating properties of oil. You could try doing a google search for oil additives and see if any come in a gold can.

It was a Mitsubishi product , sell by the part departement with the Mitsubishi logo. I guess it's a usually practice. If you have any info, let me know.

If the additives was made by Mitsubishi Motors I will not worry about it.

probably it was just an extra buck to earn on their part. The owner's manual said there isnothing bad about adding additives on Mitsu car. I readit a million times it's safe.

I recommend putting additives when you have 60,000 miles but lower than that I will just use oil for now. DO NOT PUT ANYTHING FOR NOW LET THE ENGINE WEAR NATURALLY.

I used theRestore additives for my older cars more than 80,000 miles on them

here's a guy who sells mitsubishi oil but he is from New Zealand.

if there is a Mitsu oil there should be a Mitsu additives.

just to make sure.

I don't want people to belaughing at us because the last time I posted that they said Mitsubishi Oil doesn'texist. Especially the guy who sells Mitsubishi parts.

Some dealer have Japanese connection that's why some dealers have access to Mitsubishi Oil or products.

believe it or not

Mitsubishi is one of the companies that produce oil for Japan.

It isreal.

It may not harm your engine, but I think that your wallet is 5$ short for absolutely nothing. I would call them back and ask them for the part number, and than email customer service to get the opinion on it.

I looked at the bill for my first oil change, no additive.

I'm not big on additives, particularly not for new cars, and specially ones that suggest they boost power.

there is NOTHING at all to add to your oil to improve it in anyway.
PERIOD.
ALL oil additives are snake oil. Everything you need in both your oil and fuel are already in there.
You need NOTHING ELSE.

sounds like they're padding the bill a bit.

I will contact the dealer to have the part number and the utility or thereason about that 5,00$ extra on the bill and I will let you know. It's probably good for the motors, other way they would'nt put it only for an extra money and risk to damage the motor under warranty. I'let you know.
