Fix Radio LED ? not bright enough ?

i have a 2008, with the RockFord fosgate system.
im probably not the only one with that problem, but when light on, or when the sun is right on the screen, you cant read at all or see what is on the screen.
Any tips, advice to fix that problem ?
thanks

I doubt that there is a fix for that. Its a shame that a expensive radio like that has a crappy display. I really hate the display.

Well the radio is rather cheap (~300 retail IIRC) and of questionable quality (FM issues, slow reading/disc switching), but the amp and speakers are not.
You can cut the wire that sends the signal that the lights are on. However, you will not have any lights on the radio buttons at night then.
Probably better to upgrade to some better headunit if it bothers you that much.

I know I wonder if some kind of plastic cover can at least don't make the sun go in or change the LED for a white insted of red.

The easiest and most obvious way to fix this issue it to change it out. But if it aint broke, I don't want to change it. Cutting the wire isn't going to increase the brightness of the display during daytime viewing. What bothers me that much is that I like the cosmetic look of the oem radio head unit and it hasn't given me any problems what so ever. Just the display sux. Many owners dont have the extra cash laying around to just pop in a new radio.
