Default Got rear ended....now my FAST key beep doesn't work

Rough morning...my 07 XLS got rear ended by an 07 Avalon. No real damage...as far as I can see. I just noticed now I don't hear the beep when I unlock (put my hand in the handle) or lock (hit the black rubber button on the handle) the doors. Any ideas of getting my beep back??? (I really liked the beep!)

Check your owner's manual. When I bought my 08 Outlander the lights would flash when I locked the vehicle with the remote, but it wouldn't beep. Looked through the owner's manual and I found the procedure to get it to beep and flash the lights. It involved pressing a certain sequence of keys on the remote.

I will say I don't understand how getting rear ended could have stopped the beeping, but who knows.

Hey azjake....thanks for the input...the "beep" I'm talking about is when you're not using the remote to lock/unlock, but just using your hand in the handles on the doors and the liftgate. With the FAST key, the sensors know you have the key in your pocket and unlock the doors...and there's a "beep" that I no longer hear..

I got rear ended too before and had the same issue afterwards. The dealership replaced two external receivers near the lower part of the rear bumper that were damaged and start working fine again.

THANKS!!! 2 questions...do you know what the parts look like and did the dealership charge you to replace them?

OK, I learned something. I hope I never get rear ended, but if I do and my remote stops working, I will know why...
