Gracenote update

I just picked up my Outlander on Wednesday, and today I got to try it out in the snow.:D Felt pretty solid.

I had gone to the Owners area on Mitsubishi's site and found an area that has an update for the Gracenote software, so I went and checked out the version information in my MMCS. The CDDB Version is 0663-0000, and here is what the software update instructions say:

For customers using the CDDB Data version with the last four figures ending with [1959], or for customers who purchased a data version of [0663-0000] (all 8 figures), you already have the latest version...

I don't understand what "purchased a data version of [0663-000] (all 8 figures)" means. Since my Outlander's build date was in January 2008 it looks like there is a newer version. Can anyone help me with whether I need to update or not?

Hi to all,
I download the new update (1959) from mitsubishi site, but when I try to upgrade I got a message "check disk", and nothing happens. I tried with 3 kind of CD.
Outie is 08 European version , i bought it this year, and I successfully updated earlyer from 0000 to 1459, and installed "DVD inmotion patch".
Any idea?

Zox.

Did you look at the instructions here?
Code:

I don't know why it didn't work for you but maybe it has to do with closing the session or the specific disc format used.

Ok, I will try with that multisession start-finalization "ping-pong", but in official site (http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/dow...n_mmcs_01.html ) doesnt mention that way...
They only said that "Multiple session and packet writing are not supported."

Zox, I use a CD-RW and NERO without problems. You must start the update manually, go to menu AV MODE screen and touch button CDDB Updating, because the update will not initiate automatically...

Well, if you don't like the tutorial, you don't have to follow it. Simple as that.

RE: Gracenote update

rcpax, you misunderstanded me tutorial is OK. A few months ago, I upgraded the CDDB from original v.0663-0000 to 0663-1459 simply with burning the downloaded files to CD and succeded the upgrade. Now I tryed with simple burning with Nero, and now I did not succeed, and tryed to burn with that tutorial, but with the same result "Please check the disc". I burned 7-8 CD-s, without success in update.

My original software version was "F", aplication v.00.31.08 loader BLD-NR-261EM 1.09, and after "DVD in motion pach" I got software version "E", aplication v.00.31.06 and BLD-NR-261EM 1.09
Majbe this downgrade affects the CDDB upgrade possibility?

Zox.
