Default Heated Mirrors - Practical Confirmation they Work!

Credit to Shergood for this one. (Forget my previous advice regarding resistance measurements and getting the stealer to check - this is way more practical!)

Start vehicle.
Tunr on rear defroster.
Roll down window.
Wait 30 seconds
Place hand/palm on side mirror glass

It is definitely warm (almost hot) to the touch regardless of outside temp. I did this at 85 degrees outside.

If you have no heat, then go see the stealer.

I have a non-contact thermometer at the shop, I will check to verify the US versions on Monday.

Curious if it is all US XLS models or if there are any "region specific" US builds that have it.

Interesting dodo2 - the plot thickens. Maybe heated mirrors areonly available on Canadian Outies but if this is the case I'd be pissed if I lived in any of the northern border states.

I tried melting ice off of mine in I think Feb. and it didnt do anything. I have an XLS USA model. I like in NJ and when we get snow, we really get it good. Im going to test out the hand on the mirror thing later today. It is possible that I have them but my 8 min ride to work wasnt long enough for them to heat up and be able to melt the ice.

Doesn't sound too promising. They would definitely be hot in 8 minutes.
