Default Help identifying part

Hello All,

Haven't been to these forums in a while. Anyway, I guess I found a great reason to come back. Please refer to the two attached images. Today in the morning I have found two of these shields right under my 2009 Outlander ES and I am wondering what exactly those are (their function) their respective part numbers. I guess corrosion got the best out of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you for a quick reply. By any chance, is there a part number for just this cover or is this a part of the entire catalytic converter? I've tried searching online for just the cover part but I can not seem to find it. My current cover is too corroded to try to reinstall it.

Most covers are welded on. Chances are you'll have to order a new cat if you can't find new ones. I'd just clean them up the best I could, paint them with high temp paint and have someone tack weld them back on.
