Default Help- installing aux input cable in 07 Outlander

I wanted to be able to play my ipod through my speakers, but still be able to control it from the ipod. So after the great help I received on these boards, I bought this:
http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=1222

I brought it to Best Buy for installation, and after the guy took off the radio, he said the only connectors he found were 18-pin and 20-pin, but the instructions for this part was 14-pin or 22-pin connectors. Is he an idiot? Or is my radio messed up? This cable is made for this car so I don't understand why it doesn't seem to be the right thing. Help?

I put that same item in my 07. The install guide is for the gen1 outlander, which is why the connectors where different. See my post here on installation.
