key problem

One of our keys no longer locks/unlocks our 2007 outlander LS. The light lights up, but nothing happens on the car. I changed the battery, but it made no difference. The key still starts the car and you can drive with it, but you can't lock/unlock. This is the regular non-smart key. Anyone have this happen to them? Suggestions? I suspect it's a dealer fix. Warranty?

the dealer covers that under warranty. it happened to me already and they just replaced it with a new set of the f.a.s.t. keys.

Outcome

I took it to the dealer. The key itself turned out to be ok, but the car, apparently, "forgot" the programming of that one key. They reprogrammed both keys to work and charged me $67.27 for the joy. I actually paid it and left, figuring it was a cheap fix, but after almost getting to work, I actually turned around and went back. How is it my fault that the vehicle "lost" the ability to read my key, when there was zero problem with the key itself.

After 45 minutes and escalating from the service writer through the service manager, a phone call to mitsubishi canada and a visit to the store manager, they refunded the money. How does a vehicle "forget" the coding for a key? This is not the smart key system, just the regular key, which still ran the vehicle, but wouldn't lock/unlock the doors.
