Has anyone gone LED crazy on their Outlander? If so what did you replace with LEDs and which bulbs did you use?
|
I have a '13 Outlander GT S-AWD & replaced the following:
- DRL w/ these 1156 LEDs. The polarities are reversed in the '13 MY DRL sockets so I had to get these w/o going through the headache of swapping wires in the connector since LEDs are polarity sensitive. - Front side amber marker bulbs w/ these 194 amber LEDs - Reverse bulbs w/ these 7440 Cool White LEDs - All interior bulbs w/ Warm White LEDs + 3175 base adapters Still in the process of replacing all the signal light bulbs w/ LEDs but need to figure out where I can mount the heat sink for the resistors to prevent hyper flashing. |
I hear when you install LED bulbs in turning signal lights you get Hyper Flash, just wanted to know if Hyper Flash is illegal?
|
I have been told that instead of fitting resistors you can change the flasher unit, but I am still trying to locate the flasher unit. Can anyone help with this ?
|
@SERPENTOR: not sure if hyper flash is illegal. but you might want to check with your local vehicle codes.
@Stevo 53: I believe the newer Outlanders does not come w/ a relay (at least my '10 & '13 MY didn't) where you can just swap out to prevent hyper flash. instead, the signal lamps are controlled by ETAC. You might want to search the forum for more detail explanations. |
What are the best brand and places to buy the LED bulbs?

Which interrior LED Kit would you go with?:
1. Mitsubishi Outlander LED Interior Package (2007-2013) 2. http://www.amazon.com/LEDpartsNow-Mi...d+interior+kit 3. Premium SMD LED Interior Lights Package For Mitsubishi Outlander |

Hi All, sorry for the delayed reply.
@SERPENTOR: I didn't buy a "kit" per se. I bought them individually as listed in my post #2. As far as hyper flash being illegal, you might want to check with your local vehicle codes. For me, it's more of an annoyance. @skirsman: To prevent hyper flash, you'll need to install resistors. See here for more info F.A.Q. |
